Poplar Leaf Shaped Like a Wide Triangle

Coloring guide
A single large leaf fills the page, shaped like a wide triangle with a pointed tip at the top and a slightly wavy, toothed edge along both sides. A long, thin stem curves down from the base to the bottom of the page. A thick central vein runs up the middle, with curved side veins branching off in pairs toward the edges. Near the bottom corners, a few short, fine lines fill in the lower sections of the leaf. The big open spaces between the veins are easy for small hands to color. Try shading each section between the veins in a slightly different green, or let kids pick autumn yellows and oranges. It also works well for a quick science lesson, since children can trace the veins with a finger or crayon and talk about how a leaf is built. This printable page is simple enough for preschoolers and still has enough detail for older kids.
