Windowsill Pot of Flowers Next to a Watering Can
Coloring guide
A clay pot on a windowsill holds three big daisy-like blooms with round, wide-eyed centers, two closed buds and plenty of leafy stems. A band of small flowers runs around the middle of the pot. Beside it stands a little watering can with a flower on its side and a sprinkler spout. Behind the plants is a four-pane window showing puffy clouds, with curtains tied back by fabric bands on each side. Petals and leaves are large and clearly outlined for small hands, and the curtain folds and clouds give older kids more to work on. Soft pink or sunny yellow petals look good against green leaves, and a bright blue watering can finishes it off. Save it as a free PDF to add to your collection. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the window panes with light sky blue, and color the bushes and clouds outside in leafy green.
- 2Paint the flower pot in terracotta orange, and the watering can in sky blue, leaving the small flowers on the pot band and the can white.
- 3Color the curtains butter yellow and the curtain tiebacks tangerine orange, then fill the window frames and sill in warm brown.
- 4Color the flower petals in bubblegum pink and the buds in raspberry pink, keeping the flower centers white except the middle of the center flower, which is golden yellow.
- 5Fill the leaves in leafy green, with the darker leaves in sea green, and color the stems olive green.
- 6Optional: add a little shading on the pot and petals with a slightly darker shade of the same color for extra depth.
