Puppies Peeking Beside Apple Basket and Pumpkins
Coloring guide
Two puppies rest their front paws on the rims of buckets on either side of a big woven basket piled high with round apples. The basket has a neat brick-like weave and a twisted rope edge. The lower puppy has its tongue out, and the upper one looks out with wide eyes. Ribbed pumpkins sit around them, and curly vines, maple-style leaves and small flowers fill the space. A few more round apples hang on the vines. The scene is drawn sideways, so turn the paper to landscape before you print it. Try coloring the basket weave in two alternating browns, then use red and yellow for the apples and orange for the pumpkins. It is a nice fall page for talking about harvest time.
