A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big blue window panes behind the pair: color the tall panes and the strip on the left with medium blue, leaving the thin gaps white.
- 2Fill the yellow shutter slats on both sides of the picture with soft yellow, keeping the white background gaps between them.
- 3Color the puppy's body, head, haunch, tail and front paw in golden orange, then the kitten's body, face, tail and front leg in bright orange and golden orange.
- 4Paint the gray pedestal and ledge with light gray, and the flower pot with terracotta orange.
- 5Add the red collar with caramel brown shadow under it, a bright yellow tag, a coral pink tongue and light pink inner ears, then color the flower petals in coral pink, lavender purple and light blue.
- 6Optional: Leave the puppy's eye whites and the kitten's paw highlights white so the faces and paws look bright and lively.
