This side-view sports car is sleek and low-slung, tilted as if it's racing uphill along a straight track line. It has a rounded roof, a big rear wing, and two large wheels with ten thin spokes each, so kids get lots of small sections to color. Swirly flames fill the space around it, a few drifting above the roof and a few more curling along the bottom of the page. The background is plain white, which lets young colorists decide where the speed comes from. Bright orange, red and yellow work for the flames, and a bold blue or green body helps the car stand out. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the whole car body, roof, door, rear fender and spoiler with bright red, leaving the small white highlight strips along the sides and front as they are.
- 2Fill the side windows with sky blue, keeping the thin window frame lines white.
- 3Shade the tires with charcoal gray and fill the wheel rims with the same gray, leaving the bright spoke highlights white.
- 4Color the top left, upper middle and bottom right flames with lemon yellow, and the bottom flame tips with golden yellow.
- 5Fill the large left flame, upper right flame and bottom middle flame with tangerine orange, then add golden orange to the lower right flame and coral red to the small inner flame tips. Leave the road and background white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker red along the lower body edges and a touch of extra gray under the car for depth.
