Rainy Day Frog Using a Leaf as an Umbrella

On a big lily pad, a smiling frog holds a large leaf over its head like an umbrella and stays dry while raindrops fall all around. It has big shiny eyes, a wide open grin, and long toes spread across the pad. Two puffy clouds sit at the top of the page, and raindrops of different sizes fill the sky, a few of them landing on the leaf. Behind the frog, tall grass or reeds grow on both sides of the pond, a smaller lily pad floats nearby, and ripples circle the water. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the big umbrella leaf, the large lily pad and the two small lily pads with deep green, leaving the leaf's light vein lines unpainted.
- 2Color the frog's arm, both legs and feet with grass green, and the grass tufts on each side with the same grass green.
- 3Paint the frog's face with pale lime green and the belly with light yellow, keeping the two big eye whites white.
- 4Fill the open mouth with cherry red on the inside and light pink on the lower lip, then color the umbrella stem with medium green.
- 5Color the left cloud and all the raindrops with sky blue, and use pale sky blue for the cloud's inner edge, leaving the right cloud white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker green along the bottom edge of the leaf and the lily pad for depth, and add a tiny white dot on each raindrop for shine.
