Rhode Island State Flag With Anchor and Stars

Rhode Island State Flag With Anchor and Stars coloring page

Coloring guide

A tall anchor sits in the middle of the page with a round ring at the top and a flat crossbar called a stock. Two curved arms with pointed tips sweep out at the bottom. Beneath it, a wavy ribbon banner carries the word HOPE in outlined bubble letters. Thirteen five-pointed stars form a circle around the anchor, and each one is tilted at a slightly different angle. A thin double border frames the whole flag. The large open spaces make this an easy one for younger kids, while the small letters and star points give older children a little detail to work around. Try coloring the background white or leaving it blank, the anchor in navy or gold, and the stars gold. Then count all thirteen stars together and talk about why Rhode Island picked an anchor and the word hope.
