Here Godzilla stands tall on a rocky ledge with his mouth wide open, sharp teeth showing and claws held out in front of his chest. His skin is scaly and textured, with a ridged belly, jagged plates down his back and a thick tail curling off to the left. A smoking volcano sends a plume up into the sky behind him, and a winding river of lava cuts through a craggy valley. Puffy clouds and scattered dots, like falling ash or sparks, fill the sky. All those scales and rocks mean plenty of small spaces to color, so it's a good pick for steady hands and longer sessions. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sky and clouds: fill them in pale blue, and color the small patches of open sky in sky blue.
- 2Color the back spikes and tail spikes in bright blue, then fill the belly and neck in butter yellow.
- 3Fill the head, arms, thigh patches, legs and tail patches in grass green, leaving some white scales across the body for texture.
- 4Color the volcano and mountains in dark brown and khaki brown, the lava flow in orange, and the smoke in medium gray.
- 5Fill the ground and rocks in tan and light brown, the claws in cream, and the river in sky blue. Leave the highlights white.
- 6Optional: add a few darker strokes of grass green along the edges of the scales to add depth.
