Rolling a Giant Snowball Next to a Snowman
Coloring guide
A boy and a girl in pom-pom knit hats, scarves, mittens and winter boots lean in together to push a huge snowball over the snowy ground, both grinning with excitement. Behind them is a finished round snowman with two eyes and three buttons, but no nose or hat yet. Down in the lower right corner, a carrot and a top hat sit on the snow waiting their turn. Snow-covered evergreens and rounded bushes fill the background. Younger kids will find the big shapes and clear outlines easy to color, while older kids can add texture to the snowy details. Bright red and blue work well for the striped hats and scarves, orange for the carrot, and a pale icy blue shade on the snowball will help it stand out from the page. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Leave the giant snowball, the snowman, and the snowy ground white so they stand out against the colored characters.
- 2Color the boy's jacket, hat, and mitten sleeves in sky blue, and his mittens in golden yellow.
- 3Color the girl's coat, hat, and mittens in soft pink, and her scarf in lavender purple.
- 4Use peach skin for faces, ears, and hands, caramel brown for the hair, and dark blue for the boy's jeans.
- 5Add the bright red scarf on the boy, the carrot in carrot orange, the top hat in charcoal black with a bright red band, and the trees and bushes in forest green.
- 6Optional: Use a slightly darker shade of the same color along the folds of the jackets and coats to add depth, and leave tiny white spots on the eyes for a sparkle.
