The runner's button-up jersey, belt, striped pants, tall socks and cleats give kids plenty of uniform details to color. A low fence, a row of rounded bushes and tufts of grass sit behind them. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big grass areas: color the field and the grass tufts in bright green, and the bushes and trees in forest green.
- 2Fill the outfield wall with tan, then color the fielder's shirt, cap, and shoes in bright red and the glove in warm brown.
- 3Color the runner's helmet and the sock bands in royal blue, adding dark navy along the helmet's side edge, and fill the pants in light gray.
- 4Add peach to the faces, hands, and necks, then dark brown for the hair. Leave the runner's jersey, socks, shoes, and the white band on the fielder's cap white.
- 5Optional: Add a darker shade of light gray along the pant folds and tan along the bottom of the base to add depth.
- 6Finish by keeping the ground strip and the bottom of the base cream or white so the base stands out against the grass.
