Grumpy Goldfish With a Downturned Mouth and Shiny Eye

A round goldfish swims to the left, drawn with a big plump body and a small downturned mouth that gives it a funny, slightly grumpy look. One round eye with a shiny highlight sits near the front, and a curved gill line runs down the side of its head. The tall tail fin and the fin on its back are drawn with wavy, ruffled lines that stretch out like ribbons, and more frilly fins trail from the belly and under the chin. The body is left mostly blank, so it makes a nice open space for bold color. Try orange and yellow on the body, then switch to lighter shades like pink or light blue on each stripe of the tail so the layered lines really show. Kids can also talk about why this fish looks sad and color it to match the mood. This free printable works well for a quiet pet or ocean unit.
