Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus Enjoying Cocoa and Cookies
Coloring guide
Santa and Mrs. Claus sit next to each other at a table and smile at one another, each holding a mug of hot cocoa topped with marshmallows. Both mugs have a snowflake pattern that's fun to color. A baking tray of decorated cookies sits in front of them, with gingerbread men, star cookies and Christmas tree cookies. Santa has his fluffy pom-pom hat and fur-trimmed coat, while Mrs. Claus wears glasses, a bun and a frilly collar with an apron. In the background a window shows falling snow and snowy clouds, and a shelf holds a lidded jar and a small holly plant. Because it mixes big and small areas, this free printable suits lots of ages. Warm brown for the cocoa and cookies and bright red for Santa's hat and the holly berries would be a good start. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big red areas: color Santa's hat, his suit sleeves and Mrs. Claus's dress sleeves with cherry red, leaving the white fur trim and pompom white.
- 2Fill Santa's and Mrs. Claus's faces, hands and the hair buns with peach skin, then color Mrs. Claus's hair and bun silver gray.
- 3Color the window panes and winter sky with sky blue, leave the snow on the sills and the window edges white, and use caramel brown for the window frames and wooden table.
- 4Paint the tray and the cookies: cool gray for the tray, caramel brown for the gingerbread men, golden yellow for the star cookies and forest green for the tree cookies.
- 5Keep the mugs, marshmallows, beard, mustache, apron and collar white. Optional: add a little darker shading in the hair and along the sleeves for depth.
