Chimney Climb with Santa Claus on a Snowy Roof
Coloring guide
Santa is caught halfway through his descent, one boot still on the snowy rooftop and the other leg already down the chimney. He's smiling, with a big round nose, a curly mustache and a fluffy beard. One hand holds the top of the large sack on his shoulder, and the other rests on the rim of the chimney. The chimney has a snowy cap and plenty of bricks to color, and little outlined stars float in the night sky around him. Big, clear shapes make this free printable easy for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Red works for his suit and hat, gray and brown for the bricks, and a dark blue crayon around the stars will make the night sky pop. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- bright red
- forest green
- tomato orange
- chocolate brown
- warm orange
- brick red
- peach skin
- black
- rust orange
- golden yellow

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big red areas: fill Santa's hat, coat, arms, legs and belly with bright red, leaving the white fur trims empty.
- 2Color the sack forest green, then add a few pale gray strokes on one side for a soft highlight.
- 3Fill the chimney bricks, alternating brick red, rust orange, tomato orange and warm orange so the rows look varied, and keep the snowy top white.
- 4Color Santa's face peach skin and his boots and boot sole chocolate brown, keeping the beard, mustache and fur trims white.
- 5Fill the belt with black, then color the buckle golden yellow with a black center, and finish the stars in golden yellow.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker red under Santa's coat and a touch of chocolate brown on the chimney soot to add depth.
