Seal and Dolphin Best Friends Underwater
Coloring guide
A smiling seal pup and a grinning dolphin swim side by side in this underwater scene, and they look like great friends. The seal has big round eyes, whiskers and flippers held out at its sides. The dolphin tilts its head with an open smile and a curved tail. Light rays shine down through the wavy surface at the top, and round bubbles of different sizes float around the pair. Tall wavy seaweed and rounded rocks frame the bottom. Bold, clear outlines and roomy shapes work well for young children and anyone who likes animal pictures. Try silvery gray and blue on the dolphin, warm brown on the seal, and pale yellow for the light rays to make it feel sunny. It's a free printable that's easy to use at home or in class. This fits right in with our Seals & Sea Lions coloring pages — see also Dinosaurs and Goat.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the seal and dolphin bodies with warm brown, keeping the lighter peach patch on the seal's muzzle and cheek.
- 2Shade the seal's lower flipper, the dolphin's side fin and the seal's flippers with dark brown to add depth.
- 3Color the sea floor mounds with sand beige and add golden yellow touches on the center mound.
- 4Paint the seaweed strands in leaf green, adding a few turquoise strands on the left, and leave the water surface lines white.
- 5Add sky blue to the light beam at the top and the bubbles, then fill the seal and dolphin open mouths with coral pink.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker brown along the edges of the bodies for a soft shadow effect.
