In the middle of a flowery pasture stands a big, smiling sheep, its woolly coat drawn as bumpy, cloud-like curls that are satisfying to fill in. Four more sheep share the field. One grazes in the upper left, a small lamb stands on the right, another lamb nibbles grass with its head down at the lower right, and a third lamb rests on the ground at the lower left. Daisy-style flowers and grass tufts cover the field. Farther back there's a barn with a silo, a wooden fence, a winding path, a leafy tree, a few evergreens, fluffy clouds and a sun with long rays. Soft grays or creamy yellows suit the wool, with pink and purple for the flowers. Download it and print it for a relaxed afternoon of coloring. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the grass and background: fill the big ground areas and hills with spring green and lime green, leaving a few patches of white for the bright flowers.
- 2Color the sky clouds with sky blue, and fill the sun with golden yellow while leaving its rays white.
- 3Fill the trees and bushes: use medium green and dark green for the leaves and pines, and warm brown for the tree trunk.
- 4Color the sheep wool with pale cream, keeping the wool bodies, eye whites and the lamb faces mostly white as the highlights.
- 5Add coral pink to the inside of the big sheep's ears and leave the small gray sheep in olive gray, with its face left white.
- 6Optional: add a little olive gray or pale cream shading under the sheep and along the grass to give the scene more depth.
