Side View of Human Head Showing Brain Cross Section

Coloring guide
A man's head is drawn in profile facing left, with wavy hair, a beard, a mustache and a closed-lip expression. The skull is cut open to show the inside of the head. You can see the layered bone of the skull, the folded brain tissue near the top, and the curved band of the corpus callosum in the middle. Toward the back, the cerebellum has a branching, leaf-like pattern. The brainstem runs down toward the neck, and small vessels and nerves are traced throughout. This would work well in a science lesson. Have students use a different color for each region, such as the cerebrum, cerebellum and brainstem, then make a simple color key in the margin. The printable also gives older kids lots of small areas to practice careful shading.
