Napping Baby Unicorn on a Fluffy Cloud
Coloring guide
Bedtime is the theme here. A little unicorn with closed, lashed eyes and a gentle smile has curled up for a nap on a fluffy, scalloped cloud. The spiral horn points up, and the wavy mane falls over its face and down its back, ending in a long swirled tail that wraps around the cloud. Striped hooves are tucked under its chin. Overhead, a big crescent moon and three small stars in different sizes fill the night sky. Bold outlines and roomy shapes work well for preschoolers and early elementary kids, and the mane stripes give older children a bit more to do. Soft purples, pinks and baby blues suit the mane and tail, and a pale yellow moon and stars add a sleepy glow. Print the free PDF for a rainy day or classroom time. This fits right in with our Unicorns coloring pages — see also Skeleton and Vampire.
A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- pale sky blue
- soft yellow
- lavender purple
- mint teal
- bubblegum pink
- sunny yellow
- pale pink
- soft lilac
- pale lime
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the fluffy cloud at the bottom and fill it with pale sky blue, leaving the outline clean.
- 2Color the mane and tail sections with the rainbow pastels: mint teal on the teal strands, bubblegum pink and pale pink on the pink ones, and soft lilac behind the horn.
- 3Fill the lower mane, front legs and paws with lavender purple, and the horn and its stripes with soft yellow and pale lime.
- 4Color the three stars sunny yellow and the pale pink inner ear, keeping the unicorn's body, face and outer ear white.
- 5Optional: add a little shading with a slightly darker shade of each color along the edges of the mane and cloud to make them look fuller.
