Sleeping Mermaid With Scaled Tail and Long Seaweed

A mermaid rests on her side with her eyes closed and her long, flowing hair drifting out around her head. Her tail is covered in rows of overlapping fan-shaped scales, and it ends in a big ribbed fin at the bottom right. Long wavy strands of seaweed stretch across the page, and rounded rocks sit behind her, one with a brick-like pattern. On the left, a large shell shape with rays fanning out fills the background, and bubbles of different sizes float all around. The scales offer lots of small spaces, so try a gradient from teal at the waist to deep blue at the fin, using colored pencils for the tight rows. Younger kids can start with the big bubbles, the seaweed, and the shell rays. This free printable is a good quiet-time page for ocean lovers.
