Sea Turtle Ride for a Smiling Mermaid and Jellyfish
Coloring guide
Both smiling, a little mermaid and a friendly sea turtle glide along together. She has long wavy hair with a starfish clip, a seashell top, and a scaly tail with a big flowing fin. The turtle has a patterned shell with large sections, spotted flippers and a round, happy face. Three jellyfish with long curly tentacles float nearby while small bubbles drift by. Sunlight rays shine down from the wavy surface at the top, and seaweed and coral dot the sandy floor below. The big shell panels and tail scales are easy for small hands to fill in. Soft purples or teals could work for her tail, and greens and browns for the turtle's shell. Print this free page for quiet time at home or in class. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the mermaid's hair, face and arm in light peach for skin and coral red for the flowing hair, leaving the eye whites and the starfish white.
- 2Color the mermaid's tail scales in turquoise and the tail fins in mint green, keeping the small highlight by the waist white.
- 3Fill the turtle's shell with warm brown and dark brown, then use caramel for the shell borders.
- 4Color the turtle's head and back edge in pale lime, its flippers in leaf green and grass green, and leave the eye highlight white.
- 5Color the jellyfish caps in light lavender and their inner bells in pink, keeping the tentacles white, and add lavender purple to the mermaid's shell top.
- 6Finish with soft yellow for the sand at the bottom and the seaweed in leaf green. Optional: add a few darker strokes on the shell and tail for depth.
