One sleepy panda lies draped over a thick tree branch, arms and legs dangling, eyes closed in a happy little smile. Three small birds perch on leafy twigs nearby: one at the upper left, one on the right and one at the bottom right. A big trunk runs down the left side of the page, and a few leafy branches and puffy bush shapes fill the corners. Clean lines and large shapes mean younger kids can color without much frustration. Black patches on the ears, eye patches, nose and legs are the classic choice, and the belly and face can stay white or get a soft gray. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the panda's ears, arms, legs, and eye patches with charcoal gray, leaving the head, back, and belly white.
- 2Color the tree trunk, the main branch, and the branch ends with warm brown.
- 3Use leaf green for the bushes at the bottom and for the leaves on every branch, leaving a few leaf tips white for highlights.
- 4Color the small bird at the top left sky blue, the bird on the right golden yellow, and the bird at the bottom cherry red.
- 5Optional: Add a little extra shading to the panda's gray areas and the branch with a slightly darker tone of the same color for depth.
