Sleepy Snake Napping on a Big Rock

Coloring guide
Eyes shut and smile on, this snake is curled on top of a large round rock with its head resting on its own coils. Wide bands cross the thick body, so it is easy for kids to color one neat section at a time. The tail hangs down the front of the rock, and a curved crack runs across the stone. A round sun with short rays sits in the upper right corner. Down at the bottom, simple round-petal flowers and grass tufts flank the rock. Big shapes and bold lines make it a good fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids. You could alternate bright green and yellow on the bands and use warm orange for the sun. A nice printable for a calm, creative break. Browse more Snake coloring pages, or explore Bee and Reptiles for even more fun.

- 3Fill the snake's body bands alternately with golden yellow and medium green, following the coils, and use light green for the snake's head and a few bands near the back.
- 4Paint the flower petals with coral pink on the left and small flower, and lavender purple on the right flower.
- 5Color the leaves and grass with light green and medium green, and fill the flower stems with light gray.
- 6Optional: add a slightly darker shade along one side of each snake band and a touch of darker gray on the rock to add depth.
