Night Flight With a Little Bat and a Big Full Moon

Coloring guide
Across the page flies a cheerful little bat, both wings stretched wide. It has big round eyes, a tiny pig-like nose and two small fangs. A large moon sits behind it, covered in circle-shaped craters of different sizes. There are puffy clouds in the corners and along the bottom, plus small stars scattered over the night sky, including a tiny one at the bottom center. The pointed ears have an inner outline, and the round belly and little clawed feet are easy to find. Each wing has clear sections that are simple to color. Thick, clean lines suit preschoolers and early elementary kids with crayons or chunky markers. Soft purple on the bat against a pale yellow moon will make the little flyer pop from the glowing background. Print it free for Halloween or a quiet bedtime-hour activity. This fits right in with our Bat coloring pages — see also Ghost and Candy.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the full moon, its craters and the stars golden yellow, leaving the background white.
- 2Color the three clouds sky blue, leaving their outlines bold and clean.
- 3Fill the bat's head, arms and outer ears with medium purple, keeping the eye whites and the small shine dots white.
- 4Color both wings and the round belly light lavender, working from the outer edges toward the middle.
- 5Fill the inner parts of the ears with soft pink, the nose with dusty rose and the two feet with deep purple.
- 6Optional: add a few light diagonal strokes of a darker shade on the moon and wings to give them a little texture.
