A sweet little bat hangs in the middle of the page with both wings stretched out and its tiny hands up high. Big pointed ears, round sparkly eyes and a gentle smile make for a friendly face, with a small tuft of hair on top. Fluffy fur shows on the round tummy, and two little feet dangle underneath. The wings are split into clear, simple panels that small hands can fill in easily. There's no background, so kids can draw in their own extras if they want. Soft purple or dusty blue looks good on the wings, with lighter shades on the ears and belly and dark eyes for contrast. Preschoolers and early elementary kids will enjoy it, and it's free to print for a Halloween party or class. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the two big wings and the ears with lavender purple for the wings and light pink for the inner ears, leaving the thin black outlines clear.
- 2Color the head, arms, body, and feet with soft gray, going around the chest fur and the tips of the wings.
- 3Add a light pink nose at the center of the face so it stands out against the gray head.
- 4Leave the eye whites and the small shine spots in the eyes white, then fill the round pupils with a dark color such as black or deep brown.
- 5Optional: Add a little darker gray along the edges of the head, body, and wings to make the bat look a bit more rounded.
