This baby sea turtle swims along with one front flipper held high in a cheerful wave, and its big sparkly eyes and wide smile are hard not to love. The round shell is built from large hexagons, while the head and all four flippers are covered in smaller honeycomb patterns that are fun to fill in. Three small round-eyed fish swim above the turtle, with bubbles of different sizes floating around. Down at the bottom, wavy seaweed and a few rounded rocks rest on the sea floor. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big hexagon plates of the shell chestnut brown, leaving the thin lines between them white.
- 2Fill the rim around the shell edge with tangerine orange.
- 3Color the head, the front flipper edge and the back flipper with lime green, and use leaf green for the spotted flippers, leaving the round spots on the head and the eye whites white.
- 4Paint the three fish ocean blue, add the golden yellow fin on the top fish, and color the chin pale yellow and the smile coral pink.
- 5Color the seaweed leaf green, the gray rock cool gray and the bubbles light aqua, then finish with the background left white. Optional: add a few darker strokes on the shell and flippers for depth.
