A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big sky on the canvas sky blue, and leave the sun's rays and center glow golden yellow.
- 2Fill the grass at the bottom of the canvas and the tree foliage with grass green, then add leaf green to the bush on the right.
- 3Color the house walls cream, the roof bright red, and the chimney wood brown, leaving the window panes pale blue.
- 4Paint the boy's apron and sleeves golden yellow, the pocket orange, and the jeans royal blue, keeping the shoe soles and toes white.
- 5Add the easel in wood brown, the palette in tan, and the paint cups in royal blue, golden yellow, bright red, and leaf green. Finish the face and hands in peach and the hair in wood brown.
- 6Optional: Add a little shading with a darker shade of each color along the edges of the apron and the easel for a more rounded look.
