Boy Raking Leaves Into a Slatted Basket

A smiling boy with short hair leans into his work as he rakes a pile of fallen leaves with a wide, long-handled rake. Beside him sits a big slatted barrel basket heaped with leaves, and more leaves are scattered across the grass at the bottom of the page. He wears a long-sleeved top with a hood at the collar and gloves on both hands. Behind him, a grassy hill slopes up with two tall bare trees, a smaller bare tree on the left, and a puffy cloud in the corner. A few leaves drift through the air. Try browns, oranges, and reds for the leaves so the pile looks different from the grass, and use light wood tones for the basket. It also works well as a fall chores talk with kids, since you can ask what jobs they help with when the seasons change. Print as many copies as you need for a classroom or a family afternoon.
