Cartoon City Taxi With a Checkered Band
Coloring guide
A cheerful little taxi with a big friendly face sits in the middle of the page, with wide eyes, rosy round cheeks and an open happy smile up front. A checkered sign rides on the roof, and a matching black-and-white checkerboard band runs along the side beneath two large windows. Look for the round side mirror, two door handles, chunky wheels with round hubcaps and small bumpers at each end. The taxi rolls on a simple road line with three dashes underneath, and the background is left empty so little ones can focus on the car. Bold, thick outlines suit preschoolers and early crayon users. For the classic look, make the taxi bright yellow with gray wheels and keep the checkers black and white. It's a free printable that fits city and vehicle days. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the whole car body, roof, hood, doors, and the front bumper area with golden yellow, leaving the checkered band, sign squares, and eye whites for later.
- 2Color both windows and the small front side window with sky blue, using gentle strokes so the color stays light.
- 3Fill the two tires with charcoal black and the hubs and bumpers with light gray, keeping the small center circles of the wheels golden yellow.
- 4Add the cherry red tail light on the left side of the car, and color the side mirror and door handles golden yellow.
- 5Leave the checkered band, the roof sign checks, and the cheek spot white, and keep the road dashes and ground white as well.
- 6Optional: Add a little extra shading on the lower body and the edges of the tires with a slightly darker shade of the same color for more depth.
