Dalmatian Pup and Firefighter Driving the Fire Truck
Coloring guide
We're looking at a fire truck head-on, and through its big windshield a grinning young firefighter holds the steering wheel with a spotted Dalmatian puppy sitting next to him. Both have firefighter helmets with a badge on the front. The pup's tongue is out, and a little shield tag hangs from its collar. The truck itself has a ladder on the roof, two side mirrors, round headlights and a wide grille with horizontal slats. Nothing is drawn behind it, so there's lots of open space for young colorers. Large, bold shapes make it a nice fit for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Red for the truck and helmets looks right, and black spots keep the Dalmatian classic. A gentle color plan to get started — mix in your own anytime.
- bright red
- light gray
- sky blue
- charcoal gray
- golden yellow
- medium gray
- peach skin
- caramel brown
- orange
- pale beige
- tan
- steel blue
A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sky-blue window areas on the cab and the side windows, leaving the dalmatian's white fur and the boy's eye whites untouched.
- 2Color the truck body and roof boxes in bright red, then use fire red for the round lights and the side ear areas.
- 3Fill the ladder rails with caramel brown and the ladder rungs with tan and pale beige, keeping the white gaps between rungs.
- 4Color the boy's face, hands and neck in peach skin, then fill his helmet with bright red and golden yellow, and his shirt with golden yellow.
- 5Add charcoal gray to the wheels, steering wheel, mirrors and dashboard, and medium gray to the grille slats and lower front panel.
- 6Optional: Add a little steel blue shadow on the dog's shoulder and a touch of orange to the small tail lights for extra depth.
