Meet the Firefighter: Helmet Show-and-Tell With Three Kids

Coloring guide
A firefighter with a big smile holds his helmet out in both gloved hands while three curious children crowd around and look up at him. He's wearing a turnout coat with reflective stripes. The kids have their backs partly toward us: a boy in a hoodie on the left, a girl in a hoodie with a long ponytail in the middle, and a child with curly hair in a short-sleeved T-shirt on the right. A large fire truck fills the background, with a ladder on top, a ladder-style side compartment, big windows, a grille and a light bar on the roof. A few trees peek in from the corner. Good for community helper lessons or fire safety week, and it's a free printable. Try a bright red helmet and truck, with yellow stripes on the coat so the reflective bands pop. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big background trees: color the leafy trees on both sides in grass green and leave the sky and ground white.
- 2Fill the fire truck in bright red, then color the two front windows in sky blue and the grille and rolling door in silver gray.
- 3Color the firefighter's jacket in golden yellow, then add lime yellow stripes across his sleeves, chest and lower jacket.
- 4Color the helmet in yellow with a bright red brim and band, and fill its front panel in yellow, adding near black inside the helmet's opening.
- 5Paint the kids: the left kid in bright blue hoodie with navy blue jeans and chestnut brown hair, the girl in lavender purple sweater with orange hair, and the right kid in leaf green shirt with dark brown curly hair.
- 6Finish skin areas in light peach or warm tan, leaving eye whites and small highlights white. Optional: add a little charcoal gray shading on the truck tires.
