Giraffe Peeking Over the Treetops with Birds
Coloring guide
This friendly baby giraffe, with big sparkly eyes, long lashes and a happy smile, stretches its tall spotted neck up over a row of leafy, round-topped trees. Three little birds flutter in the sky around its head, and a bright sun with pointed rays sits in the top corner beside some puffy clouds. It has two knobby horns, a tuft of hair, pointed ears and lots of patchy spots down the neck, so there are plenty of shapes to fill in. The trees have simple leaf details and branching trunks, which leaves room for careful coloring. Warm yellow and orange for the giraffe, brown spots and bright blue birds make a nice mix. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the clouds and the tops of the bird wings with baby blue, leaving the sun and background white.
- 2Fill the giraffe's head, ears, neck and face with golden yellow, keeping the eye whites and the nose area white.
- 3Color the big round trees and bushes with lime green, then add forest green to the darker bushes behind the neck and the grass at the bottom.
- 4Color the giraffe's horn tips and most of the neck spots with chocolate brown, and fill the tree trunks brown too.
- 5Color the bird wings sky blue while keeping the bird bodies white, and add one orange spot on the giraffe's neck.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shade on the edges of the neck and tree leaves for depth, and leave tiny white highlights in the eyes.
