Girl Heading Down the Path, a Back to School Walk
Coloring guide
A happy little girl with two high pigtails walks along a winding path, holding both straps of her big backpack. She's dressed in a short-sleeved top, a flared skirt, leggings and chunky sneakers, and her wide, open-mouth smile says she can't wait to get there. Behind her sits a small house with a pointed roof, four-pane windows and a front door, up on a gentle hill next to a round-topped tree and a few bushes. Little tufts of grass dot the lawn beside the curving path. Large, clean outlines make it easy for preschoolers and early elementary kids. Sunny yellow or sky blue could suit the backpack, a rosy pink the skirt, and green the grass and tree. You can print it free for a morning-of-school activity at home or in class. Add this to your Back to School coloring page collection, alongside New Year and Teacher Appreciation Day.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the big areas: color the girl's skin, the face, neck and arms in warm peach, leaving the chin highlight white.
- 2Fill the skirt and the shoes in medium blue for the skirt and hot pink for the shoe details, keeping the shoe soles and laces white.
- 3Color the house walls and roof with soft yellow and bright red, then add the red front door and chocolate brown hair with purple backpack straps.
- 4Fill the tree top in leaf green, the trunk in caramel brown, and the bushes and grass patches in lime green and leaf green, leaving the background and tree branch white.
- 5Add the purple backpack, the lavender pocket and the hot pink mouth and hair tie, keeping the t-shirt and short sleeve white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shade on one side of the hair, skirt and backpack to make the colors pop.
