A little hermit crab leans out of a big spiral shell and seems happy to meet you. His eyes are large and round with shiny highlights, his smile is wide, and one small claw rests on the rim of the shell like a wave. Three bubbles of different sizes float in the upper corners. In the bottom right, a smiling starfish with dotted arms lies on the sand, and a few pebbles and sand dots run along the bottom. Outlines are thick and the open areas are big, so preschoolers and early elementary kids should have an easy time with this free printable. Peach and pink bands would look pretty on the shell, with bright orange for the crab and yellow for the starfish. Kids who like Crab coloring pages usually enjoy Farm Animals and Chameleon too.

A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Fill the big swirly shell and the upper shell band with butter yellow, keeping the spiral lines dark.
- 2Color the back of the shell and the outer shell bands with tangerine orange, including the lower rim of the shell.
- 3Fill the crab's head, face, claw, and small leg with coral red, then color the smile with bubblegum pink.
- 4Color the starfish tangerine orange, leaving its little round dots white.
- 5Color the three big and small bubbles with sky blue and the two pebbles with light gray, leaving the bubble shines and the crab's eye whites white.
- 6Optional: add light shading with a slightly darker shade of the same color along one side of the shell and the starfish to make them look rounder.
