Little Horned Lizard Next to a Flowering Cactus

Coloring guide
Leaning forward on its front legs, this little horned lizard has big round eyes and a wide smile, and it's posed beside a tall ribbed cactus in a desert setting. Pointed horns top its head, spiky scales ring its cheeks and its back and tail are bumpy and studded. The cactus behind it has two curved arms and a large open flower on top. In front you'll see two big daisy-style flowers, plus a smaller flower on the left with leafy plants, a few smooth pebbles and little grass tufts. Thick, clean outlines and roomy shapes help younger kids, while the scales and cactus ribs give older kids small details to tackle. Sandy tans and soft oranges work for the lizard, fresh green for the cactus, and bright pink or yellow for the blossoms. Print the free PDF at home for a quick coloring break. - 2Color the tall cactus and its side arms in bright green, leaving the thin dark lines between the ribs as they are.
- 3Fill the flower petals on the cactus top in rose pink and the flower centers in golden yellow.
- 4Paint the big flowers at the bottom and the smaller ones on the left and right in soft pink, with golden yellow centers.
- 5Add the leaves and grass in forest green and bright green, then color the rocks in warm gray and the small pebble in sand beige.
- 6Finish the lizard's back with burnt orange spots and cream spikes and horns; optional: add a little darker shading under the lizard and rocks.
