Grinning Pumpkin Pail Overflowing with Trick-or-Treat Candy

Coloring guide
Right in the middle of the page, a pumpkin bucket grins out with big round eyes, a triangle nose and a jagged smile, filled right up to the top with sweets. Two big swirl lollipops stand on sticks at either side, two chocolate bars poke out of the center, and striped and polka-dot wrapped candies fill in the gaps. The curved handle arches over the whole pile. Down on the ground there are more treats: two wrapped candies, a candy bar and one more swirl lollipop. Thick, clear outlines and roomy shapes make this a nice pick for preschoolers and early elementary kids, while the stripes and dots give older kids something to chew on. Orange works well for the pumpkin, and you can mix pinks, purples and blues on the wrappers so the candy pops. Print it free for an easy afternoon activity. Love this Trick-or-Treat coloring page? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by filling the big pumpkin pail body, sides, bottom and rim with pumpkin orange, leaving the two eye whites untouched.
- 2Color the carved grin with lemon yellow and the triangle nose with amber orange, keeping the eye whites white.
- 3Fill the curved pail handle and both ends with violet purple, and leave the lollipop sticks white.
- 4Color the two large lollipop swirls, the left one in light brown and the right one in tangerine orange, then the small bottom right lollipop in leaf green.
- 5Add the candies in the pail with sky blue, lavender purple, leaf green, rose pink, pale blue and mint green, leaving the white stripes on the striped candies white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading along the bottom edge of the pumpkin and the candy wrappers to make the pail look rounder.
