Ladybug Sitting Happily on a Big Green Leaf for Insects Fans

This friendly ladybug has big round eyes and a little curved smile, and she's parked right in the middle of one large leaf. The lines are bold and simple. Two antennae with round tips curl up from her head, and six bent legs poke out from the sides of her round shell. A line splits the shell down the center, with seven circle spots: one big one in the middle and three on each side. The leaf has a center vein, a few curved side veins and a short stem at the bottom. Thick outlines and roomy spaces make it a nice free printable for preschoolers and early elementary kids still learning to stay inside the lines. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start by coloring the whole leaf with leaf green, including the top, sides, and bottom tip, and leave the tiny gaps between the leaf veins as they are.
- 2Fill the big ladybug wings with bright red, working carefully around the black center line and the outlines of the spots.
- 3Color the head, the legs, and the two antenna tips with charcoal gray, keeping the antenna tips bright red.
- 4Fill each round wing spot with charcoal gray, including the big spot in the middle of the back.
- 5Leave the eye whites, the smile, and the small tooth white, then fill the black pupils with charcoal gray.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading along one side of the wings or leaf with the same colors to make the drawing look more lively.
