Sheep Peeking Over a Wooden Fence with Flowers

With both front hooves resting on a wooden fence rail, a cheerful little lamb peeks over the top and grins. A fluffy, curly tuft of wool sits on its head, and floppy ears plus wide, sparkly eyes make it look sweet and friendly. The fence has two sturdy posts with round nail details and a wood-grain plank across the middle. Tall grass fills the bottom of the page, and three daisy-style flowers in different sizes grow among the blades. A round sun with short rays shines in the upper right corner. Big open shapes suit preschoolers and early elementary kids, and the grass and wool give older children something finer to work on. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the sun and the flower centers with golden yellow, keeping the petals white.
- 2Fill the sheep's face and the small tuft on its head area with cream beige, then color the ears and nose salmon pink and the tongue bubblegum pink.
- 3Color the hooves chocolate brown and the fence rail and both posts with caramel orange.
- 4Fill the grass with bright green, lime green and grass green, using forest green for the darkest blades near the bottom.
- 5Add mustard yellow to a few grass blades and the small pink flower in bubblegum pink, leaving the wool, eyes and flower petals white.
- 6Optional: add light shading with a darker shade of each color along the edges of the ears, fence and grass for depth.
