- 1Start with the jeans: fill mom's kneeling legs and the boy's pants with denim blue, leaving the small white gap between their legs unpainted.
- 2Color mom's top and sleeve lavender purple, and the boy's shirt and sleeve grass green.
- 3Fill both faces, necks, and the boy's hand with light peach, keeping the eye whites bright white.
- 4Color the long hair on mom and the messy hair on the boy with chestnut brown.
- 5Paint the two smiles soft pink, then add bright red to the hearts, brick red to the boy's left shoe, and lavender purple to mom's shoe, leaving the sole white.
- 6Optional: Add a few darker strokes of denim blue or chestnut brown along the edges for a bit of depth.
