Smiling Orange with Leaf and Orange Slice

A round orange with a big curved smile and two small dot eyes sits in the middle of the page. A short stem curls up from the top, with a single pointed leaf beside it that has a curved vein line drawn inside. In the lower right, a wedge-shaped orange slice leans against the fruit. The slice has a thick peel edge and thin lines that fan out from the center to show the segments. The outlines are bold and simple, so the page works well for younger kids who are still building control with crayons. Try coloring the whole orange in a few shades of orange, then use a lighter color for the slice segments so children can see how the inside of the fruit differs from the peel. The printable page also makes a nice starting point for talking about fruit and healthy snacks.
