A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.

1. 1Start by filling the scarecrow's overalls, bib, and straps with denim blue, and the patches on the legs and the chest pocket with moss green and marigold yellow.
2. 2Color the shirt sleeves and cuffs tomato red, and the collar and button area brick red, leaving the buttons white.
3. 3Fill the hat with caramel brown, add moss green to the hat patch, and color the face light peach with coral pink cheeks and a pumpkin orange nose.
4. 4Color the big pumpkins and small pumpkins with pumpkin orange and tangerine orange, then shade the hat brim and shoes with chocolate brown.
5. 5Add grass green to the bushes, fence and grass, and use forest green for the leaves around the pumpkins.
6. 6Finish the straw sticking out of the hat, sleeves and hems with golden yellow, leaving small white gaps for the straw strands. Optional: add a darker shade on the edges of the pumpkins and overalls for depth.
