Four Kids Riding a Smiling School Bus, Back to School Page
Coloring guide
This easy page shows a school bus with a big smiling face rolling down the road, and four happy kids peeking out of the side windows. One child wears a headband, one has curly hair, and the other two have short hair, so every passenger can get its own look. The bus has round wheels, a bumper, a front grille, and two round lights on top. Up above, three puffy clouds drift by, and a dashed line runs along the road below. Bold outlines and big open spaces work well for preschoolers and early elementary kids, and it's a nice fit for the first week of school. Sunny yellow is the obvious pick for the bus, then give each kid a different shirt color. It's a free printable, ready whenever you are. Looking for more? A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the big bus body, roof, and lower panels with golden yellow, and fill the stripes along the side with amber.
- 2Fill the four window backgrounds and the three clouds with sky blue, and the small round headlight with pale blue.
- 3Color the kids' faces and hands with skin peach, leaving the eye whites and shine spots white. Use medium brown for the left boy's hair, dark brown for the right boy's hair, light brown for the girl's hair, and orange for the curly-haired boy.
- 4Dress the kids: bright blue for the left boy's shirt, pink for the girl, green for the curly-haired boy, and red for the right boy. Color the small red bumper at the front left in red.
- 5Color the tires dark gray, the wheel centers light gray, the front bumper and side mirror light gray, and the grille charcoal gray. Leave the empty ground space white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading on the lower edges of the bus and tires with a deeper shade of the same colors for a bit more depth.
