Here is a happy cartoon snake hanging from a thick branch, tail wrapped around the wood and body drooping down in a long S. Big round eyes, a small smile and a forked tongue give it a friendly face. Large oval spots decorate its back, and curved stripes mark the belly near the head. The tail tip wiggles with a few little motion lines beside it. Split-edged leaves, a bit like monstera, frame the branch on each side. The wide spots and leaves are easy for small hands to fill. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the snake's main body and lower coils with leaf green, leaving the eye whites and the small highlights white.
- 2Fill the snake's head, chin and the belly bands with pale yellow.
- 3Color the big monstera leaves with forest green and the branch with warm brown.
- 4Add golden yellow spots along the body, the tail coil and the cheek, and color the wrap around the branch with lime green.
- 5Color the tongue coral pink, the open mouth deep red, and keep the leaf and branch highlights white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading in the leaf green and forest green areas to give the snake and leaves more depth.
