Smiling Sun Math Pixel Art Number Puzzle
Coloring guide
The numbers 1, 2 and 3 fill a large square grid on this page, and each one tells you which color a square gets. A round block of 1s sits in the center, and two black dots are already filled in for the eyes. The 2s wrap around it in a ring, and boxed 3s are scattered along the top, bottom, sides and corners like sun rays. Down in the key, 1 shows a smiling sun, 2 shows a plain circle and 3 shows a ring of little dashes. Kids just choose one color per number as they go. Yellow for the 1s, orange for the 2s and bright red or pale gold for the 3s will make the sun's face glow. Save it as a free PDF for a screen-free afternoon at home. - 2Color the glowing edge around the sun's face with golden yellow, following the curve on the right side and the top middle.
- 3Add orange to the two small spots on the left and right sides of the sun's middle row.
- 4Color the two soft pink cheeks on the left and right of the face, keeping the eyes and the face's number cells white.
- 5Optional: Add a second, slightly darker sky blue stroke along the edges of the blue area for a bit of depth.
