Toy Train Activity Sheets with Beach Ball, Gift, Tent and Book
Coloring guide
A cheerful steam engine with a big smiling face chugs along a railway track and pulls four little cars of toys. The first car holds a striped beach ball and the second has a wrapped present with a big bow. The next two carry a triangular camping tent and a closed hardcover book. Three fluffy puffs of smoke rise from the chimney in the top left corner. Thick, clean outlines surround the wheels, side rod and wooden track ties, which makes them easy for small hands to color. Red or blue works well for the engine, the beach ball can take a rainbow of colors, and the gift bow looks great with bright stripes. It's free to print, so you may want a few extra copies on hand. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the large areas: color the engine body and cab in sky blue, and the front wheels in sky blue as well.
- 2Fill the wagons: use bright red for the gift wagon, leaf green for the middle wagon, and tangerine orange for the flatbed car at the end.
- 3Color the round wagon in soft purple, the tent in golden yellow with its inside in bright red, and the book cover in sky blue with its window in pale yellow.
- 4Add the chimney in golden yellow and the chimney top and engine skirt in bright red; use medium gray for the couplings and charcoal gray for the wheel rims.
- 5Color the clouds in pale blue and the track sections in chocolate brown, leaving the wagon gaps and the ball shine white.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading at the bottom of the wheels and the edges of the ball for extra depth.
