Fishing Troll Sitting on a Rock by the Pond
Coloring guide
At the edge of a pond, a cheerful little troll with tufted hair, pointy ears and a big round nose sits on a large rock holding a long fishing rod. A happy fish dangles in the air at the end of the line while water splashes up below it. The troll's outfit is furry and fringed, and his bare feet hang over the rock. Tall cattails stand on both sides, a couple of bushy shrubs sit in the background, three puffy clouds float above, and lily pads with blooming water lilies drift on the rippled water. Big, clear shapes make this free printable easy for young kids. Mossy green suits the rock, and bright orange makes the fish stand out against blue pond water. - 3Fill the large rock with silver gray and add warm gray under the troll's legs for a soft shadow.
- 4Color the hair in dark brown and the fur vest and loincloth in medium brown, then do the cattails in the same medium brown.
- 5Fill the grass, reeds, bush and lily pads with leaf green, and the pond splashes with bright blue.
- 6Finish the fish in orange with a golden yellow tail and light peach belly, color the lotus flowers rose pink and the tongue salmon pink. Optional: add a few darker strokes on the rock to make it look rounder.
