This open-top race car is heading to the right while giant, puffy clouds of smoke roll up behind it on the left. There's lots to color once you look closely: a raised scoop with little round vents on the hood, a zigzag stripe down the side, an oval grille panel on the door, slats on the nose, and big round wheels with shiny spokes. A smaller puff curls by the back tire, and a few speed lines run under the car. No scenery here, so kids get to fill the empty space any way they like. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the smoke clouds on the left using pale blue for the top puffs and sky blue for the lower, darker puffs, leaving small white gaps for a soft look.
- 2Fill the main car body with fire red, including the side panels, rear section, and front bumper area, leaving the cockpit window and the bright edge at the front white.
- 3Color the upper car parts with golden yellow, such as the hood, door area, and the small light near the rear, then add dull gold to the little rear light.
- 4Use silver gray for the engine cover, hood vents, and the wheel rims, and pale gray for the small hub circles inside the wheels.
- 5Fill the dark lower side panels and skirt with slate gray and the front lower bumper with amber orange to finish the bottom of the car.
- 6Optional: Add a little royal blue to the small tail light on the far left and a touch of extra sky blue in the smoke for depth.
