The star of this page is a cozy little cottage covered in snow and strung with lights. Bulbs run along the steep roof, circle the arched upstairs window and outline the front door, which has a big wreath with a bow. There's a square window with a snowy sill on each side of the door, and a brick chimney with a snowy cap rises up behind the roof. Out by the path stands a smiling snowman in a knit hat and striped scarf, with round bushes and two snowy evergreens close by. The bulbs are a nice size for small hands, so kids can take turns with red, yellow, green and blue along the roof. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the house walls and the siding boards pale tan, leaving the snowy roof, window frames and snow ledges white.
- 2Fill the window panes with sky blue, keeping the white frames and snow sills untouched.
- 3Color the front door and the chimney bricks brick red, then add the wreath in dark green with its bow in brick red.
- 4Color the trees in dark green and the bushes and grass patches in medium green, leaving the snow on top of them white.
- 5Color the snowman's scarf and hat brick red and the front step cool gray, keeping the snowman body, face and buttons white.
- 6Optional: add a little darker shading along the lower walls and under the roof edge to make the cottage look cozier.
