Standing Flamingo With Curved Neck and Long Legs

Standing Flamingo With Curved Neck and Long Legs coloring sheet

Coloring guide

A single flamingo stands in profile facing right, its long neck bending in a deep S-curve so the head tips downward. The big hooked beak is outlined with a small round eye just above it. Curved feather lines sweep across the rounded body and the wing, and the tail feathers stretch out to the left in a pointed fan shape. Two thin legs drop down with clear knee joints marked by little line segments, ending in webbed feet at the bottom. There is no background, so the whole page is open white space. Try coloring the feather lines in gradual shades of pink, from pale near the neck to deeper near the wing, and use black or dark gray for the beak tip. It also works well for talking with kids about why flamingos have such long legs and bent necks. The printable page has plenty of room for crayons or markers.
