The Statue of Liberty stands tall on her stone pedestal out in the water, torch held high and a tablet tucked in her other arm. A big city skyline stretches across the horizon behind her, including a tall skyscraper with a spire, with puffy clouds drifting over the buildings. Four large firework bursts and lots of little stars light up the sky. Below, a small sailboat and a ferry-style boat float on rippled waves, and leafy bushes ring the base of the island. With this much fine detail, it suits older kids who like careful coloring. A soft green-blue works for the statue's robes, and reds, golds and purples make the fireworks glow. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Color the sky and clouds on the left, right, and far edges with pale sky blue, leaving the fireworks and stars white.
- 2Fill the statue's long robe, tablet, and raised arm with mint green, going around the fold lines.
- 3Color the face with warm peach and the torch flame with golden yellow, keeping the crown spikes and eye whites white.
- 4Fill the pedestal and base blocks with stone gray, then color the water with bright blue and the tower and skyline buildings with bright blue and pale sky blue.
- 5Color the bushes and trees on the island and along the shore with grass green and forest green, and add muted green touches to the lower bushes.
- 6Optional: Add a little pale sage to the neck and the raised arm for soft shading, and leave the sailboat and firework highlights white.
