Lighthouse on the Cliff With Sailboat, Adult Coloring Sheet
Coloring guide
A tall striped lighthouse rises over a rocky cliff in this free printable, with a small gabled keeper's house and an arched door tucked against its base. Three seagulls glide through the sky near two puffy clouds, and a little sailboat with a pennant flag drifts on the rippled sea to the right. Rounded bushes line the clifftop, while big curling waves crash on the rocks below, sending up splashes and droplets. The lighthouse has arched windows, a railed balcony and a lantern room with a tiny domed top, so there are lots of small spaces for careful coloring. Bold red and white bands on the tower, soft blues and teals for the water, and gray-brown on the cliff would look good. It's a great pick for older kids and grown-ups who like detail. A suggested order, zone by zone — skip around as you like.
- 1Start with the sky clouds: fill the two large clouds and the small one on the left with soft cloud blue, leaving their outlines crisp.
- 2Color the cliff and rocks in warm brown, working across the big rock faces, then add leaf green to the grass on top and the bushes beside the lighthouse.
- 3Fill the lighthouse stripes: color the tower's red bands in deep red and bright red, leaving the white bands and the small arched windows white.
- 4Add the lantern top: use deep red for the dome and railing, soft yellow for the glass windows, and leave the light's center as pale yellow, with the keeper figure in golden yellow.
- 5Color the sea and waves in ocean blue and bright sky blue, keeping the white foam and the seagulls white, then give the sailboat hull golden yellow.
- 6Optional: Add a little darker shading to the lower cliff and the lighthouse's shadow side for depth.
