Summer Calendar Picnic with Sunflowers, Watermelon and Lemonade
Coloring guide
Three big sunflowers with dotted centers and leafy stems stand behind a little wooden table, and a smiling sun with rays shines in the top corner. On the table you'll see two juicy watermelon slices with seeds, plus a tiny spotted ladybug on the front slice. Beside them is a pitcher of lemonade full of lemon slices and ice cubes, with a whole lemon and leaves at its base. It's a cheerful summer picnic with lots of variety, from large petals to small seeds and dots, so kids can go at their own pace. Bright yellow petals with brown centers, red watermelon with green rinds and sunny yellow lemonade would all look right. Print this sheet at home for a quiet, creative moment. - 2Color the sun face and the lemon with sunny yellow, and fill the sunflower petals with the same sunny yellow.
- 3Fill the sunflower centers and the table with warm brown, then add the leaves in leaf green and the stems in leaf green too.
- 4Color the pitcher neck and rim in sky blue, fill the lemonade with sunny yellow, and shade the ice cubes in pale blue, leaving their shine white.
- 5Add dark green to the watermelon rind and the back leaves, and olive green to the shadow under the watermelon slice.
- 6Optional: add darker shading on the petals and leaves, and leave the background, the sun rays outline and the ladybug's eye whites white.
